A very fine small California compote dish by Vanderslice and Company, San Francisco, 1890.  This dish is bright cut on the foot and has loop handles.  It has a period engraved initial "P".  It stands 5 inches tall to the top of the loop handles.  It is marked with the Vanderslice Company address at 136 Sutter Street, and with the Golden Bear mark.  It weighs 12 ounces.  Sadly it once had a cover which is now missing, but this could service as a candy or small dessert dish for cookies.  Some discoloration around the interior of the rim, but otherwise excellent condition.  Very moderately priced.

A superior sterling silver centerpiece bowl by Gumps, San Francisco, circa 1950.  This bowl is of classic design with flutes and points on the rim.  It weighs 29 ounces.  The bowl is perfectly plain with no engraving.  This would be a superior bowl for serving cold shrimp or crab.

A very good Old Sheffield Plate punch bowl, English, circa 1785 unmarked.  This punch bowl stands 8 3/4 inches tall and is 10 1/2 inches in diameter.  It is engraved with the Arms of Dunn.  There is copper showing on the lobing, on the stem and on the arms (evident in photograph).  In our opinion these do not detract from the beauty of the piece.
