A museum quality meat skewer by the noted English woman silversmith Hester Bateman, London, 1781.  This skewer is 12 1/4 inches in length.  It is unengraved.  Wonderful marks.  A rare find.

A rare meat skewer by John Shields, Dublin, circa 1814.  Ths meat skewer is bright-cut engraved with full hallmarks.  It is 9 3/4 inches long.  Some scratching which is consistent with its use as a holder of the roast beef for carving. 

An unusual bright-cut meat skewer by George Wintle, London, 1812.  This meat skewer is 13 inches long and is also engraved with period initials.
