A very interesting fruit bowl by Holmes and Edwards, Connecticut, circa 1880.  This bowl is embossed withacanthus leaves and has a scalloped rim.  It is 8 inches in diameter weighs 15 ounces and is 2 1/2 inches tall.  The rim is engraved with period script initials.  Excellent embossing.
