A rare pair of salvers with cast borders by the Specialist salver makers, Makepiece and Carter, London, 1776.  These salvers represent a unusual brand of small salvers and are of of very heavy weight because the borders are cast and applied.  They are are 8 inches in diameter and weigh a very hefty 32 ounces for the pair  They are engraved with a Coat of Arms and mottoe, as yet untraced.
